Toyota Canada has officially made history. As we enter 2026, the company announced that 2025 was its best year ever for sales in Canada. The driving force behind this success? A massive shift toward “green” driving. Nearly half of all vehicles sold by the company last year were electrified.
Record Electrified Vehicle Sales Lead the Way
The latest data shows that Toyota Canada 2026 momentum is built on a foundation of hybrid and plug-in hybrid success. In total, the company sold 123,886 electrified vehicles in 2025. This represents nearly 50% of their total sales.
Canadians are moving away from traditional gas engines faster than ever. Models like the Corolla Hybrid saw a 27% jump in sales, while the Camry Hybrid saw demand more than double. This proves that high fuel prices and a desire for reliability are making hybrids the top choice for families in Toronto and across the country.
The RAV4 Remains Canada’s Favorite
It is no surprise that the Toyota RAV4 continues to be the best-selling passenger vehicle in Canada (excluding pickup trucks). With over 75,000 units sold, it remains the king of the road. Most of these are built right here in Canada, supporting local jobs while providing the all-weather capability that Canadian drivers need.
Lexus Celebrates 35 Years with Major Growth
Lexus, the luxury arm of Toyota, also had a record-breaking year. As Lexus celebrates 35 years in Canada, it achieved its third record-breaking sales year in a row. More than 58% of all Lexus vehicles sold were electrified, led by the popular NX and RX models.
